One of the most controversial issues of this generation. As technology gets advanced more things seem to become more and more possible. Who will think that there are some other living spices in the outer space other than in the earth if it was not for the new evolved technology.Water is the main source of life on Earth. Taking a clue from this, European scientists, using ultra cold orbiting telescopes, have discovered unimaginable volumes of water in inter-stellar space. Scientists were astounded to find water in the freezing atmosphere of Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn (and its moon Titan). They have even identified a cloud of water, less than a light year across, in the constellation Orion.This discovery raises questions about life elsewhere in the universe. These lives that are said to have emerged outside the planet earth are called extraterrestrial lives. The evidence of extraterrestrial life, such as those listed in a 2006 New Scientists article are supported by scientists like Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking. They say it would be improbable for life not to exist somewhere other than Earth. Professor Stephen Hawking announcing in a series from Discovery Chanel said intelligent life called aliens are almost certain to exist but instead of seeking them out,humanity should be doing all it can to avoid any contact with them.He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach.”
In addition to Professor Hawking's believe other claims have been made by the other scientist named Frank Drake, in the early 1960s. He came up with an equation (called the "Drake Equation") that calculated the possibility of extraterrestrial life. He determined that there was a possibility of 100,000 to 1,000,000 extraterrestrial civilizations in our galaxy. It only do not just end there as producers and movie makers make imitations of what is believed to be aliens in a variety of movies such as Star Wars, Jadoo, Predator vs Alien. On the other hand other people have a different view about what scientist claims. Some people who crush the idea of Professor Steven say, if aliens were there, more advanced to us that means they could have contacted us before we could think about coming in contact with them. They also say if aliens were to raid the earth for its resources then as intelligent as they are said to be,they could have long brought their spaceship here and conquered the earth.
Christians are one of the groups that strongly oppose the theory of extraterrestrial lives. They quote a verse from the bible their holy book which says(Genesis 1;1) " In the begging God created the heavens and the earth" This verse goes on to tell about the things God created,light,waters,land, human and other animals. So to their big disappointment they are hearing about other creatures that have not been mentioned at the creation of everything. Some of the Christians say if at all there are other creatures outside the earth then they are the demons, for God have selected only earth and gave it life and only it,no other planets. They say God have made human kind to be superior so that they may look after the world so that means there are no other creatures that are superior to the human race.
At the end it still remain a question of who is right!
